The project involved the classification of 8.3 million hectares (20.5 million acres)from four Landsat 7 Thematic Mapper (TM) satellite scenes from Paths 41-43, Rows 20-21, acquired August 3 & 17, 1999, and August 7 & 15,2001. For the Al-Pac FMA earth cover classification , the project area was classified into 40 earth cover categories. The classification scheme was based on Viereck et al.
