In Chapter II, I developed a wetland classification,thereby providing land managers with a procedure for identifying important wetland types and as a means of stratifying future samplling efforts. In Chapter III, I used the wetland types identified in Chapter II in an analysis of wetland selection by aquatic birds. On the Yukon Flats, several species exhibited a positive association with different wetland types at various stages in their breeding cycle.
