Work aimed at improving nesting, staging and wintering habitat is carried on in widely differing geological, ecological, political and socio-economic climates. To protect habitat in Canada, Conservatioin easements will be used to help meet Ducks Unlimited's consrevation mission. These easements are voluntary legal agreements between a landowner and a qualified organization which allows for the protection of natural values on land.The owner agrees to modify or restrict certain land uses such as commercial development or cultivation and to provide access to the organization to enhance or monitor the land.
