Waterfowl use of fall-seeded canola. K. Guyn and J. Devries

By: Contributor(s): Material type: TextTextPublication details: Saskatchewan/Manitoba : 2000Description: 19p. ; ill. (col. photos) ; 28 cmOnline resources: Abstract: At the 28 June 1999 meeting of the Agriculture Production Systems Working Group, the group reviewed several cropping systems including fall-seeded canola. It was the consensus of the group that although fall-seeded canola seemed promising as waterfowl nesting cover (as demonstrated in fall-seeded cereals), information to support this conjecture was limited. based on this conclusion, the group endorsed the development of further research into waterfowl use of fall-seeded canola. The opportunity to conduct this work in conjunction with the ongoing IWWR Assessment study was identified. Given that the study was nearing completion, it was felt that meshing this work with the Assessment in 2000 was the most cost efficient option.
