It is 2293 acres in area, has 6.0 miles of shoreline and a maximum depth of 5.5 feet. The shoreline is well defined, the lakebed flat and water depths at the shore were approximately one foot. Mixed forests growing on rock and cobble form the north-west shoreline but most of the lakeshore is dominated by a low peat ridge supporting mature willow, sedge/willow and grass fen.
