It has been subjected to a partial blocking at two locations, an outer breakwater with a small opening and a municipal roadway with an even smaller opening. These obstructions have cut down the flow of water from Lake Manitoba to the Delta Marsh and from marsh to the lake. The pool between the two obstructions has filled with silt and vegetation, slowing the water further and detracting from the natural beauty of the situation.
