TextPublication details: Manitoba : 1972Subject(s): Abstract: This report is the result of some eighteen months work on the part of a team of people from the University of Manitoba and the Provincial Government. This report is divided into three major sections: 1.Chapters 1, 2 and 3: Chapter 1 discusses the problems, objectives and methodology of a comprehensive resource use management and planning study of the Red River Delta area of Manitoba. Chapter 2 supplied details of the study area in terms of its location and its major natural and physical features. In Chapter 3, a common sense level approach to resource use suitability is taken, and using data available as of May 1971, a number of resource use suitability maps for agriculture,recreation and wildfowl use are presented and discussed. This chapter also presents information on the impacts of fluctuating lake levels on resource use suitability, and the proposed control of Lake Winnipeg levels.
