The purpose of the study is to measure the breeding productivity of ducks in a sample of far northern habitat, especially in respect to drouth-displaced,prairie-nesting species; and in so doing to learn as much as possible concerning: (1) the breeding biology and ecology of ducks in the area concerned and (2) the nature and value to breeding waterfowl of the habitat types in the area under study.
