By: Contributor(s): Material type: TextTextPublication details: Brookings, SD : 1974. South Dakota State University,Description: 11 p. ; 28 cmOnline resources: Abstract: The use of ERTS-1 data for inventories of wetlands as wildlife habitat is discussed. Example data are included to illustrate interpretative procedures for determining locations, spatial distribution, areal extents, and cover types of wetlands characteristic of the Prairie Pothole Regional of the Northern Great Plains. A survey of wetlands for Codington Country, South Dakota, was conducted. Changes in wetland numbers and areas were determined between April 25, 1973, and October 4,1973. The ERTS-1 data provide a source of timely, synoptic information on a repetitive-coverage basis. A discussion of the advantages and limitations for using these satellite data are included.
