Environment Canada,Description: 20 p. : ill. , maps ; 28 cmOnline resources: Abstract: From 1987 to 1990, CWS and SPRR carried out a joint evaluation study to monitor waterfowl population and habitat trends on two areas: an untreated control, and an experimental area (RM of Antler). In the latter, habitat retention and enhancement treatments implemented on leased land were designed to enhance waterfowl recruitment through increasing nesting success and settling rates. Breeding waterfowl populations and wetland habitat conditions were surveyed each spring on 16 roadside transects (93 KM2), which covered 7% of each study area.Cover maps (1:6000) prepared from CIR remote sensing obtained in 1986 and in 1990, were field checked and digitized. Changes (1987-1990) in frequency or cumulative areas of wetland types and upland cover classes were compared between zones within the control and experimental areas.
