A preliminary report on the development recommendations for the Glenboro Marsh Complex / D.B. Wark.
Material type: TextPublication details: MB : 1980.Description: ii, 21 p. ; 28 cmOnline resources: Abstract: Glenboro Marsh is a large shallow wetland, situated in south central Manitoba, approximately 2 miles south of the town of Glenboro. The marsh in total, is comprised of approximately 3,300 acres and 47 shoreline miles. Historically this basin has been subjected to heavy spring flooding which has inundated many hundred of acres of adjacent farm land. As a result of this flooding the municipality was receptive to Ducks Unlimited's investigating the feasibility of instituting a water control scheme. Toward that end preliminary landowner contacts, a biological investigation and contour survey were conducted on the wetland in 1979. The objectives of these investigations were: 1. to determine the productivity of the marsh; 2. to determine the major factors limiting waterfowl production; 3. to become familiar with local sentiment towards the marsh, and; 4. to provide management recommendations to increase duck production and preserve the marsh.Item type | Current library | Collection | Call number | Status | Date due | Barcode |
