Users guide for running the Simpak model of the Reader-Root Complex /

By: Material type: TextTextPublication details: Ducks Unlimited Canada, 1991.Description: 27 p. : ill. ; 28 cmOnline resources: Abstract: The following is a documentation for the use of Simpak for reservoir routing of the Reader-Root Complex. The reservoir routing ability of simpak offers two prime functions. Firstly, change in water levels and discharges with time at important downstream locations may be estimated. This information can be of great use in determining control structure settings throughout the complex. Secondly, operation of the individual marshes and lakes can be simulated as well as normal operation, the simulation proves useful in determining drawdown and refill times. This model can be rerun a number of times in order to seek ideal conditions by making variations to the control structure settings throughout the model complex, thus it serves as a guide to actually set the control structures in the field. As the Reader-Root model presently stands, simpak can conduct reservoir routing on South and North Reader Lakes,Root Lake, Rocky Lake and Watchi Bay.
