Marsh deterioration is occuring due to poor internal drainage thereby causing high water levels. A Ducks Unlimited Canada biological study (1) of the Vestfold Marshes has proposed that works within the marshes be undertaken to provide better water control and water management to maximize waterfowl production. This engineering investigation was undertaken to provide the optimum development proposal and the costs thereof. The recommendations and conclusions of this report are as follows: 1. That 8 new control structures, 3 new water conveyance structures, a minimum of 8255 lineal meters (27,085 lineal ft) of internal ditches, and a minimum of 26,315 lineal meters (86,335 lineal ft) of dyking be constructed within the boundaries of the Vestfold Marshes. 2. That a minimum of 6885 lineal meters (22,590 lineal ft) of outlet ditches be constructed partially within and outside the boundaries of theItem type | Current library | Collection | Call number | Status | Date due | Barcode |
