By: Material type: TextTextPublication details: MB : 1983.Description: 29 (9) p. ; 28 cmOnline resources: Abstract: Whitewater Lake is a 9,000 ha moderately saline wetland situated in southwestern Manitoba. The lake has been the subject of several studies including two which examined controlling levels of the lake by excavating an outlet; something which does not presently exist. Upon the request of the Rural Municipalities of Winchester and Morton, and the Turtle Mountain Conservation District, Ducks Unlimited proposed investigations of the area to produce a feasibility study aimed at enhancing waterfowl production. Prior to undertaking the study it was determined that a review of all past studies on or including Whitewater Lake, both biological and engineering, should be compiled. The objective was to provide a concise summary as a background for determining a course of action or direction for the feasibility study. This report provides a review of land use and biological studies.
