The inventory was carried out by Ducks Unlimited Canada in cooperation with I.D. Systems, Ltd. and the Laboratory for Applications of Remote Sensing (LARS). To date 1:250,000 scale mapsheets representing prairie,parkland, and boreal habitats have been inventoried (Table 1). The reports produced for WHI contain map overlays showing the location of Wetlands 5 ac (2ha) and larger accompanied by statistical descriptions of individual wetlands and summaries compiled b 1:50,000 NTS scale mapsheets.. The summary and individual wetland statistics include estimates of total acres, acres by cover type (i.e., open water and two marsh classes), length of shoreline, and shoreline irregularity.
