A review of fish screening operations at Cut Beaver Lake storage reservoir, Cumberland Marshes project / Dave Phillips.

By: Material type: TextTextPublication details: 1983.Description: 11 p. : col. ill. , maps ; 28 cmOnline resources: Abstract: Recent winter fish-kills in the Saskatchewan River Delta have generated controversy over fisheries management on wetland projects developed in the area by Ducks Unlimited Canada. Although most of this concern has centred upon the Birch River system downstream from the Cumberland Marshes complex, fisheries-related problems were also experienced during the development phase of the Cumberland project itself. The purpose of this summary is to provide a brief review of these problems and the techniques which have been used to protect fish stocks in the Cumberland project. It is hoped that this documentation will assist project developers as design work proceeds on the Carrot River Triangle proposal. The report is also intended to serve as an interim review of fisheries management at the project to update the various agencies involved with fisheries concerns during the Cumberland development.
