Material type: TextPublication details: 1987. Timmins, ON : Ducks Unlimited Canada,Description: (1) 10 p. : map ; 28 cmOnline resources: Abstract: Helicopter brood surveys were conducted on the Whitefish Marsh in 1987 to evaluate (1) waterfowl production, (2) the effect of a zero discharge agreement for the Frederick House/Nighthawk Lakes reservoir, and (3) the level ditch waterfowl enhancement project undertaken in 1985. An estimated 396 waterfowl were produced on the marsh in 1987. Production was limited by low water levels in the spring which reduced the amount of available brood habitat, and by rapidly rising water levels later in the breeding season. It was not possible to assess the affect of the zero discharge agreement. The level ditches provided some open water area for birds throughout the breeding season.Item type | Current library | Collection | Call number | Status | Date due | Barcode |
