Surveys were conducted for breeding pairs and broods, and habitat maps of upland and emergent cover prepared (Young et al. 1980). In 1981, a second year of assessment was initiated with survey work currently underway. The following progress report provides a summary of work accomplished on the first and second breeding pair survey circuits, as well as work completed as of May 30.The report is organized as follows and includes: a summary of general work accomplished during the waterfowl and habitat surveys (April 27 to May 20), a discussion by project site, a section discussing general waterfowl activity, and finally, a section outlining the anticipated work and scheduling for the month of June.
