(various pagings) : 28 cm. mapsOnline resources: Abstract: Waterfowl surveys were conducted at D.U. projects in the prairie provinces, interior B.C., and the Maritime provinces in 1980. Average densities of waterfowl indicated breeding pairs (IBP) at projects in the prairie biome were 5.1/ha and 20/km of shoreline in the Sask.-Man. study area and 3.5/ha and 21/km in southern Alberta. IBP densities were 2.2/ha and 16/km in the parkland biome and 2.4/ha and 39/km in the forest biome. Pair densities in 1980 were the highest recorded during the 3-year period from 1978-1980 in all the original study areas. Brood densities followed a different trend as levels of production in the prairie (2.4/ha and 11/km) and parkland (1.1/ha and 8/km) biomes were the lowest recorded during the 3-year study. Conversely, brood density in the forest biome was the highest of the 3 years in 1980 (1.2/ha and 1/km). IBP and brood densities in B.C. were 2.6/ha and 14/km and 0.7/ha and 4/km respectively. IBP densities in the Maritimes were 0.3/ha and 2.0/km in the forestItem type | Current library | Collection | Call number | Status | Notes | Date due | Barcode |
