To provide a standard for identification of soil types which exist in areas unique to wetlands across Canada. This standard should encompass field and laboratory classification tests which will enable identification in terms of the universally accepted Unified Classification System. This system although based upon engineering parameters of plasticity and grain size can be applied to pediological classification systems of the Federal Department of Agriculture. 2. Based upon the soil classifications, to alert designers, engineers and technologists to elemental design methodology through which the structures, embankments and channels of Ducks Unlimited Canada may be knowingly designed and constructed to achieve satisfactory service and safety. 3.
