Our objective was to test the suitability of four herbaceous plant species and two seed coats, plus an uncoated control,for vegetating saline and alkaline islands. The trial species included alfalfa, yellow sweet clover, slender wheatgrass and crested wheatgrass.Monthly inspections occurred during the summers of 1985 and 1986.
