That several conflicts of interest prevail, remains obvious.Stated in general terms, a reduction in mean lake levels would perhaps favor agricultural interests whereas various degrees of increase in lake levels would be beneficial to Tourism, Recreation and Wildlife interests. The establishment of a range of operation necessitates a compromise between these interests. In view of the multi-discipline nature of the Lake Dauphin control problem, this brief attempts to: 1.re-state and re-affirm the interest of Ducks Unlimited (Canada) in participating, either jointly with the Manitoba Government or as an independent organization, in the future development of the Turtle River marshes and/or other marsh areas in the Lake Dauphin Watershed, and, 2.on the basis of available information, demonstrate the importance of the Lake Dauphin marshes to the
